Medina County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Humane Investigations

Our Humane Officer and Rescue Agents investigate and, if necessary,
prosecute  cases of animal cruelty, abuse or neglect.

Our officer and agents have a mission to protect animals throughout
Medina County by investigating cases of animal neglect and cruelty.
Our Humane Officers are appointed by the court and are certified
County Humane Officers who have had special training and years of
experience working with animals.   A Humane Officer is a peace officer
in law enforcement, similar to a police officer's status as a peace
officer, and may exercise the powers of a peace officer anywhere
within Medina County to prevent the perpetration of any act of cruelty
or neglect upon any animal.  Assisting our Humane Officers are Rescue
Agents who are responsible for responding to calls about injured
animals.

Most of the complaints investigated by the Medina County SPCA come
from concerned citizens. Many referrals come from other enforcement
agencies. e.g. local police departments or Sheriffs department).   A big
part of the MCSPCA's job involves education: teaching people the
basic principles of humane treatment towards animals and helping
owners find solutions before problems escalate.

The Medina County SPCA wants to hear from you if you have
information about animal neglect, cruelty, and abuse. For more
information on Humane Investigations or to report a suspected case
of animal cruelty or neglect, please call us.
