Pet Surrender

The Medina County SPCA offers a stray and owner surrender program for pets that meet certain criteria as space in our shelter permits. We are a no-kill shelter and will never euthanize an animal for space or time.

Most times, the shelter is running at full capacity and the animal will be put on a wait list until space becomes available. If you need to surrender your dog and you live in Medina County, please contact the Medina County Animal Shelter at 3330-725-9121. We have very limited canine space and most are taken up by dogs from abuse, cruelty and neglect situations.

Animal surrenders are by APPOINTMENT ONLY Monday through Friday. Walk-ins are only accepted for severely sick or injured stray animals. Fees do apply. Please call the shelter at 330-723-7722 to surrender a stray or owned pet or email us at info@medinacountyspca.com. Please be sure to include your full name, your phone number, the city you live in (we normally only accept animals from Medina County), the type of animal you need to surrender, the reason you need to surrender and as much information about the animal as possible including any health or behavioral issues.

Adoption Hours: Tuesday through Sunday 12-4pm
(Closed on Monday & Wednesday)
